Ballard knock off shelves

Well here are the $140 shelves from Ballard. Yeah and who pays these prices. No me. So we made our own for $30

The finish product! The pic below is the empty space in my kitchen that just seemed to need something.

For $2.88 a piece we got this wood shelf holder (ok I don't know what they are called) from Home Depot.
I am a bit burned out on painting right now so I bought this shelve system from walmart for $12. The long side pieces were 31inches long and I needed something close to that. To buy wood and cut it down to that size wood have cost the same so I just wanted to save myself the cutting and painting.

These are the sides I will be using for the shelves> 31inches long and 12 wide.
I super glued the shelf holder things to the shelves.

Then using liquid nails to attach the frame around the edges. The edges are a door frame that we tore out. But buying regular door frame trim is all you need. We used a miter saw to cut the edges. You can also use a miter box because they only cost $20.
Here is the difference the trim makes.
All done but I see now I need to paint the under side of the trim.
Get your craft on Thurs.
