Well it started with these staircase post. They are the end post that cost $26 a piece at Lowes. Leiws cut the tops of of them and the end off of one to make it shorter than the other.
Wood glued a piece of wood to the ends and then drilled a wood screw up the middle to hold it tight. Then Lewis cut 4 small frames from cheap trim at lowes. We made 1 frame for the bottom and the top to give it a more finished look.
Total cost around $60 bucks.. It is more than what some of the other bloggers have done them for but since a lot cheaper than $159 from Pottery barn. This is the blog I got the idea from http://impatientlyprayingforpatience.blogspot.com/2010/05/12-floor-candlesticks.html.
